Press Release Body = Phoenix, Arizona (PRWEB) October 30th, 2006 - Blue Gumbo LLC today launched the full release of Content Pop (http://www.contentpop.com), the world's first social networking website that uses democratic editorial control of what content is viewed on the home page and what content is viewed on the front page of each user created community. The site uses Ajax technology for the voting process and has a completely new slant on creating new communities for users to interact with.
New users come to the website to view the most recent content on the web that has become popular. Content Pop's content is always changing based on a sliding timeframe based on the time of the user votes. If a user wishes to vote, submit new content, or create a new community, the user will be asked to register.
"We found that news editorial based voting already existed on the Internet. What it lacked was the ability for the users to create their own communities and interact with one another. Many people have told us that Content Pop is a great mixture of the most recent Web 2.0 social networking websites to come out recently," said Travis Newman, founder and sole owner of Content Pop.
Like other social networking websites, ContentPop.com makes it easy for other websites with great content to promote themselves. In fact, content that reaches the home page or the front page of the most popular communities may receive more traffic than their current web server can handle. "We are considering a software change that will automatically switch to the cached version of a webpage if the original is down for any reason. We are hesitant in doing this because we want our users to always see the most recent content and because we want the original website with great content to benefit," said Mr. Newman.
The most original aspect of ContentPop.com is the ability for users to create their own communities on any subject. Once a community has at least one content URL submitted, that community will be live. At that time, any other user is welcome to submit new content to that community. Communities with the most recent amount of votes will rise on the left hand main menu. This puts the most popular communities at easy access to all the users of Content Pop.
ContentPop.com receives 100% of its revenues from Google AdSense. The ads are placed randomly between positions 1-5 on any page with more than 3 content results. Ads are also placed on the comment page where users can interact for a given piece of content. "We feel that we've done an excellent job of combating 'ad blindness' and placing the ads directly in front of our users without distracting the user. The users can decide if the ads are relevant to them and can choose ignore or click on them," said Travis Newman.
